I'm just plain lazy to write serious stuff today so I've posted C.W. Kee's 'It's A Durian Life' comic strips instead. I have been reading his comics for several years now. His drawings used to be quite messy those days but they're much better now. Enjoy!:)
C.W Kee is actually a pretty hilarious guy who depicts the humorous (and sometimes ugly) Malaysian lifestyle pretty accurately :) He happens to be one of my favourite local cartoonist alongside Reggie Lee.
ReplyDeleteReggie Lee's my favourite too. And Lat is also funny. For non-local ones i love Pickles, Preteena & Zits!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi dysfunctional head:) Thanks for dropping by.
ReplyDeletehello there ^_^
ReplyDeletejust dropping by. Actually I am to search who are C.W.Kee and E.Yu. Anybody here might help?
Hi Anonymous!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I can't help you with E. Yu coz I've never heard of the name.
Here's a write up on C.W. Kee, hope it helps.
C.W. Kee started as an editorial artist with The Star in 1981. In 1985, Kee introduced 'It's A Durian Life' as a weekly cartoon strip in Sunday Star. In 1986, he contributed to The Star's Metro section with a cartoon strip called 'Food for Thought' which later became 'Kee's World' in The Star daily.
Kee was appointed a full-time cartoonist by The Star in 1987. Other than his 'Durian Life' strip, Kee also contributed to Humor Magazine, Kuntum and Galaxie. He also has a cartoon in the business section of Sunday Star.
According to Kee, life is like trying to pick a good durian. Sometimes you think you have picked the right durian, but when you open it you find worms in the fruit. In Kee's view, the unexpected does happen to all of us in our journey through life. It may alter or fortune or destiny.
Oops typo! ... 'or fortune' should be ...'our fortune'.
ReplyDeletecan you show the picture/photo of c.w kee, please.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm afraid I don't have any of his pics, sori ya.
