A Smelly Success Story ...

Most of us work hard for a living right? Some of us even work our @$$e$ off but I"m sure none of us would have thought of making money with something as disgusting and stinky as shit! (pardon the brashness)

Well, this is what one enterprising Zoo in Thailand is doing. They actually came up with this crap (pun intended) idea to sell plain panda poop as a souvenir to its visitors! You might think that this is a silly idea but lo and behold, the panda's droppings are selling like hot cakes to the tune of RM5.7 million (50 million baht) a year! Each panda poop cost about RM2.27 (20 baht). Can you believe that?

People are actually buying shit as souvenirs and taking it home and proudly displaying it somewhere in their homes or even on their office desks! It's probably treated to get the smell out but just knowing that its poop and your mind is going to be able to smell the poops' aura!

Back in my home town in Sabah when I was growing up, there were loads of buffaloes roaming around aimlessly leaving a trail of ( I didn't know until today) money making poop. How I wish I had the frame of mind those days to collect it and sell it to tourists as souvenirs. Imagine how rich I'd be today... siggghhhhh...

By the way, these 2 giant pandas that are providing the zoo with richness are actually on loan from China and has to be returned to them in 7 years. So, I guess the zoo is probably gonna feed these pandas well... hehehe... (I'm sure you get what I mean).

Ok, now let me go see what junk or rubbish I have around me that I can use to make money... LOL!

  2. Hi Nessa,
Excellent story. Amazing that someone came up with such an idea, mind blowing that others would actually pay for the stuff!
I'll have to start collecting Panda poop as soon as I get to China.

    Which reminds me...
I'm not sure I'll be able to access your blog in China, and I'm heading off tomorrow! Aahh.. don't know what I'll read every day now.
Hopefully you'll see me back here commenting soon, but if you don't, it's not from lack of trying, I promise!
