With a title like that, I definitely need tutoring! :)
When I was 13 years old, I was jealous with my classmates who attended tuitions. My parents couldn't afford it so I never had any tutoring. I remember studying on my own, never had much problems with English, but when it came to challenging subjects like Math and Algebra, I wish I had a personal tutor back then. Diagrams and questions like ax2+bx+c=0 triggered headaches instantly! I did get some homework help from a classmate, who was a Math genius! How could I not fall for him! LOL
I did well in my SRP (it was not PMR back then) and SPM... thank God! My dad was very strict and I made sure I studied so that I wouldn't get scoldings. I remember failing my Math when I was 9 years old, I was so scared to tell my dad... I thought he wouldn't sign my report card and I would be sent to the Principal office for punishment. Gosh! The things parents said to threaten kids back then, no wonder some were depressed when it came to exams! Sadly, the situation is still prevalent till today:(These days you don't even need to go out of your home to attend tuitions as there are online tutoring available 24/7 on the internet. Why didn't I have TutorVista, a leading online tutoring company back then? Kids nowadays are so privileged! That's the drawback of being born in the 70's I guess... hehehe.
You got that right when you say kids these days are a privileged lot! Spoilt brats, every single one of them! Oh, wait I was a spoilt brat too. LOL!
ReplyDeleteNick - You were your grandma's pet! :) Lucky you... all I had were scoldings from my grandma. That's why I'm not a spoiled brat... haha
ReplyDeleteNessa..you remind me back about my story time2 school..hehhe..same as you lah..never got chances to go for tuition..paling2 pun use back my eldest brother punya buku rujukan..heheh..and herannya i did well juga lah for my SPM (ndak sangka)..heheh
ReplyDeleteJiejah - Well, we're both smart la, didn't need tuition! Hehehe
ReplyDeleteI think if you really do your revision, you don't need tuition at all.
