I've never been a fan of gold for as long as I can remember. I have no idea why... I prefer diamonds actually but they're even more pricey!
I remember buying my first ever gold jewelry for my engagement when I was about 22 years old. I didn't even know the difference between engagement rings and wedding bands. In the end, I asked the salesperson to pick for me as I had no experience how to buy gold. Of course, he picked the most expensive one... I cooked up a story that my boyfriend and I were from the interior and we only have a few hundred Ringgit with us! LOL. I think he heard the same excuse a thousand times over so no such luck :(
Sometimes I wonder why gold is so expensive and why its price keeps increasing each year. Don't believe me? Then check out the gold price chart. If anyone ever gives me gold one day, I would prefer a gold bullion rather than gold jewelries. I bet they're heavy, even heavier than bricks. Heck, what on earth am I saying??! There's no way anyone would just hand over a gold bullion to me... well, except in my dreams that is! :)
.
It's because there is a finite amount of gold in the world...as with gems, oil - those things nature has spent millions of years producing for us to enjoy. There's just so much of it on/in the planet.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the silver prices, or OPEC prices! Same deal - maybe different numbers. :)
Good luck!
I don't like gold gold, the color is too striking. I'm more of a white gold person, nice lightish yellow. Uhh, when crafted together with platinum or silver.. OMG, cantik!
ReplyDeleteHaha, i used to not know there was a difference between engagement rings and wedding bands. The ones that the ladies like to wear are the former cause of the usually encrusted precious stone.
I was wondering what happened to the diamond etc. after they got married and how come the ring became so plain. Haha..
Uh, but i know some wedding bands that look just as good. Those designer ones like the one i was referring to above with platinum and white gold. OMG OMG.. Intertwined!
What are bullions anyway? Is there a difference between a bullion gold bad and a normal one.
BYE!
as for me im a goldie...hehe dont know why..i prefer gold than white gold..hmmm im attracted to shiny object..wakakak...not saying that i like to wear mak datin punya rantai ..but occasionally i wore those goldie things but not the large one...if i wear white gold usually when im out to go shopping and my dressing that time is more casual like jeans and t..hehehhe i dont mind people calling me a goldie..hehehhe
ReplyDeleteusws: bullion is the measurement of gold, silver and other precious metals.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.. pandai2 kunun si Shemah menjawab. Sorry nessa!! :D Bagus kalau betul pun.. LOL! Just taking a break and looking for someone's blog to "kacau".
Unfortunately Nessa, you're one of my victims. :P
Hi Staci Rose, that's a lovely name :) Welcome to Mumblings!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. Now I know :)
Merry Christmas!!
Usws - Ooh, I love white gold :) I think it looks more modern than the yellow ones.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very fond of rings with those big stones...not that I can afford them anyway! :)
Ratnariz - Mak Datin punya rantai??! Mesti yang besar-besar punya kan! Hehehe
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't wear any jewelry... I do wear earrings when I go out but those are just normal (fake) stones.
Shemah - It's OK, no probs with me... lagi senang kerja saya... hehehe
ReplyDeleteKacau, jangan tak kacau! :)
