Coffee, Tea Or Me?

Back when I was younger, around the time I first started work, I never knew how to use a coffee maker. In fact up to that time I never even saw any real life coffee makers. I mean, I've seen in on TV and in pictures and stuff like that but never a real one. When I was growing up, coffee was brewed freshly in the morning, manually by mom. We didn't have no fancy coffee makers, until much, much later.

That's why I was in awe of it when I first started work. The c0mpany I worked in had this little pantry in the back and they had their own coffee machine. The first time I ever tried to use that machine was a total embarrassment. I've never worked one of these machines before so I stood there for a whole 15 minutes trying to figure it out but to no avail.

Now, since I was new and didn't really know anyone in the company all that well and I didn't want to look stupid on my first day, I just kept quiet and didn't make any coffee for the next 3-4 days. Every time anyone asked me if I wanted coffee, I said I'd already made one! LOL What I did was, I quietly sat there and observed them use the machine discreetly until I was confident enough to try it out and boy, you should have seen the look on my face the first time I actually use the machine to make my own coffee! I was beaming with pride :D And from that day onwards I was gleefully making coffee every single day!

Gosh, looking back I feel like an outdated country bumpkin (no offense to all country bumpkins out there, alright?). If only my colleagues knew how stupid I was, they probably would have laughed their heads off. Well, at least now I'm a pro when it comes to operating one. In fact I'm even thinking of getting my own coffee maker for myself at home.

Once I get my own coffee maker then I can finally stop drinking that 3 in 1 instant coffee that I'm drinking now. Nothing beats the aroma and taste of freshly brewed coffee!

  9. Honestly, I don't think I know how to operate those things too - because I'm a tea drinker, not coffee! lol.

I think I'll froze to death if someone asks me to make a coffee for them!

  17. He he he just like blogging it seems! But seriously lazy to learn how to use the coffee maker, instant coffee is much easier. Have a great weekend Nessa! :)

  18. Marzie - Yeah, those instant 3 in 1 coffee packets sure make life easy ya :) I don't think I could ever make a decent cup coffee if I were to make them from scratch!
