Little Miss Chauffeur

.
News in brief...

TORONTO: An Ontario woman was charged with a traffic violation after having her nine-year-old daughter drive her home following a night of drinking.

"The woman was concerned that she was unable to drive having consumed some alcohol at a social function," police said.

The child was driving the car slowly along country roads in southeastern Ontario when police noticed how tiny she was and pulled her over. - Reuters

What would you do if this were to happen to you, would you ever let your nine-year-old kid take the wheel? I don't think so right. In fact would you even bring your 9-year-old drinking with you in the first place. Totally irresponsible, that's what I think.

If she was drunk, she could have taken a cab or at least called a relative to come fetch them. What does a 9-year-old kid know about driving anyway, even if it's an automatic car. Heck, I drive a manual and I still have no idea how to drive an automatic! Imagine a 9-year-old sitting behind the wheel and trying to peek over the dashboard and navigate home safely.

The fact that she was more concerned about being unable to drive pisses me off, what about the child's safety? Obviously she didn't give that much thought. Thank goodness the police saw the girl driving, if it was a criminal, I'm sure he/she would have abducted them both and done even worse! *cringe*
