To Host Or Not To Host

There are some questions in life that puzzles me. For instance why do the clothes in the laundry basket seem to pile up on its own if you leave them alone for more than 2 hours? Or how about when you're looking for something in particular you can never find it but when you don't need it, it's right there in front of you!

The one question that really boggles my mind is how some bloggers can rake in loads of money effortlessly with just their blogs alone... I heard one local 'celebrity' blogger here makes about RM10,000 a month in ads alone. My god, I could retire and live comfortably that way if I earned as much as that! It's insane, I tell you!! Just how on earth do they do it??

Here I am slogging away day and night, grabbing every opportunity to make money online (and even then it's not much) and I don't even make 1% of what he is making. Makes one feel absolutely dejected when you read things like that. Then again, I blog not entirely because of the money... even though I do write assignments on a regular basis. The bills still has to be paid and the extra money does come in handy at times.

When I think about the number of friends I've made through blogging, I feel blessed. Although I haven't met any of them personally but I feel as if I've known them for ages. If you are a shy person, get blogging and you'll have tons of friends in no time, that's for sure :D Not forgetting the chance to earn a little income from blogging. If you're into making some money online that is.

I wonder if I switch from my current free webhosting and move on to getting my own domain would help me in generating more money than what little I make. I mean, if I can earn as much as that celebrity blogger, I could stay home all day and just blog... hehehe. Switching to my own domain is where the problem starts. When it comes to all the technicalities and finding the right domain provider and all that, I'm totally lost.

Just messing around with my template alone gives me endless nights of headaches let alone finding a reliable web hosting company. But if and when I really do decide to become a full time blogger and earn a living online, I could always check out WebHostingRating.com. They basically give you totally independent reviews of all the best web hosting providers in the market to make your decision all that much easier.

I checked out the site and their main page alone show you the top 10 best web hosting providers of 2009. I mean, that is really useful. I didn't even have to look around too much. All the information I needed was right there for me. All these reviews are from real users who actually use the service so you know get really honest opinions. Do check out their informative articles and tutorials where you get to know more about Dedicated Hosting, Managed Hosting to installing TikiWiki!

At least I know that if one fine day when I decide to make my living by blogging I'll know where to look. But for now, I'm just happy grabbing whatever ops that come my way. It may not be in the range of anywhere close to RM10,000 a month but I'm more than happy with it :) Every cent counts during these trying times!

  2. I've often wondered that same question too myself. How does someone earn RM10,000 a month just blogging. If I could achieve half of that, I'd quit and stay home and blog all day ... hahaha ...

  6. I don't think I could blog in so many blogs anymore.. Even posting in a blog alone took me some time to karang-karang the words in my head. Hahaha.

Anyway, yeah, I met and make quite a lot of friends through blogging as well. One which includes YOU! :D
