I've been getting quite a huge number of junk/spam SMSes for the past few weeks. And it's becoming very annoying!
Just last night, I received an offer on special 'lucky' cellphone numbers that I can bid and another one this morning where I could subscribe for 'Gambar Gadis Lucah'. Seriously! I have no idea where these morons got my number from. I rarely give out my number to strangers... and I get pissed off when I'm in a middle of a meeting or an urgent work or sleeping peacefully in the middle of the night and my handphone beeps, only to find rubbish being sent to me.
It would be helpful if my phone has a spam box, just like email so I don't waste my time reading spams. But at times, these junk SMSes provide some comic relief... I have on a few occasions received SMSes that were wrongly sent to me. One from a couple who just broke off and wanted to meet up... all in Bahasa Indonesia! LOL!
I have a feeling someone or a company is selling information to another party. Just recently I came across an ad on The Sun about this person selling 10,000 updated email listing and 1000 updated phone listing at RM100 for each listings. Isn't that illegal? Where did they get the sources from?
I think it's really unscrupulous of them to do such things. I wonder if I could sue these people. I might even get rich... hehehe. I guess it would be hard to really pinpoint the exact source of the people selling my details, which I suspect very likely come from credit card companies, maybe phone card kiosks (selling pre-paid and reload cards) and perhaps even banks!
Oh well, until there really is some kind of law, I guess I'm just going to have to get used to receiving SMSes for all these so called 'nude picture' offers and get rich schemes coming to my phone. At least some of them do provide some form of entertainment :)

YAH!!!! these ppl are idiots. Digi send spam msges too. I mean I get weird sms no. from gawd knows where, join contest la, GPRS setting la, itu get to know a girl oso got hancus butul

ReplyDeleteMy ex-boss kept on receiving crank sms-es and calls from 1 particular no where all the sms-es berbaur lucah & ugutan. Ended up she changed her no. Poor her. Alamak, off topic ka pulak! Kikikiki..

ReplyDeleteBut even the ringtone nonsense oso I don laik to receive. Some more, I'm using my old phone and it cannot save as many msgs as my pink phone (which is rosak btw)so all these silly sms-es just waste space in my inbox. Me no likey! :(

Ya, banci sya kalo siok2 tidur tau2 teda erti punya SMS. Tapi pernah juga tu sya dapat wrong SMS, Nessa, tu orang (ntah sepa la tu) tanya, "Boss, itu tiket pergi Tawau mau tempah kah?" Something like that la, trus sya pi jawab, "Jadi" hahahaaa...

ReplyDeleteKadang orang2 kerja in telecommunication companies sell email and phone listings to telemarketers tu! So jangan lah you heran if those pesky telemarketers call you up asking you buy/join this and that. That's how my friend gets clients. Serious!
