The roof is one of the most important part of the house. Can you imagine a house without it??! Choosing and buying your roofing materials are very important. You have to think about its durability and lifespan. The roofing panels are expected to last approximately 50 years (that's roughly about one's lifetime) but it also depends very much on the weather condition. Roofs need to withstand really strong winds, heavy rains, even the hot scorching sun rays.
There are many types of corrugated roofing available in the market today. They are composed of a wide variety such as steel, PVC and fiber glass and are available in all kinds of designs and colors. The corrugated roofing of my old kampung (village) house back home badly needs to be replaced. They've been around for as long as I can remember... probably even older than me! Almost 90% of its metal sheets have rusted from the long exposure to the elements.
It's high time we started to think about replacing them with one of those modern ones. It'll give the old place a much fresher and newer look but then again, those old steel corrugated zincs do add a certain sense of character to the place. Gives it a sort of an old rustic feel to it.
With all that said and done, have you inspected your roof lately?
