Mybank2u?? My Foot!!!

I get all kinds of junk email. I go through all email, even in my spam box coz once in a while legitimate email end up in my spam box.angry

So today, I got this particular email from Maybank2U... with an urgent message! surprisenailbyte

But then, I realized I don't have any active Maybank account... and I haven't logged in at all. I do have an account but it's inactive, no money there... well, maybe just a few cents la.

When I hover the cursor over the link (mybank2u), it links to http://office.wright-dds.com/ which will lead you to another page, requesting for your TAC.

Now, from what I understand, you should NEVER disclose your TAC (Transaction Authorization Code) to anyone via email, phone nor sms!!

So, it's clearly a phishing attempt. I wonder where these morons got my email address from?? Insider job maybe??

So, guys berhati-hati la ya... jangan tertipu.shameonyou

* Maybank does not send out any e-mail or SMS requesting customers to provide personal banking ID or PIN or credit card information. Please do not log in through website links contained in emails supposedly from Maybank or other institutions. Be alert or you may fall victim to a financial scam.

  33. be aware !! there is fake email which is a scam

  34. I get those frequently only from banks in my area. I don't have accounts with these banks. The key is looking at how they address you. If it starts with Dear customer, or dear account holder you know it's not for real. Aside from the fact that banks will never ask for the information they request if they do send you an email they would use your name not just dear customer.

  35. rizal pun dulu pernah kena.

Nasib Baik la rizal tak klik pautan tu. Yang pernah terkena macam ni tapi tak teruk sangat untuk akaun twitter.

Nasib Baik akaun twitter bukan yang berkaitan dengan bank.

  40. Hi Ann! Welcome to Mumblings :)

That's true. If it's authentic, the banks will address us by our full name and mention the particular account number/numbers. But banks don't even do that, they'll call us directly and ask us to come to the bank instead.

    Thanks for dropping by :)
