There are times I wish I was born a man. No, I'm not having personality issues. Sometimes being a woman is just too complex especially when you're the emotional type.
I tend to get panic attacks lately. I'd feel dreadful and the fear of impending doom is so real that I could even feel my heart skip a beat, maybe even two or three. Imagine having that and you have work to complete. Your mind is a complete mess and trying to accomplish just a simple task takes every ounce of effort in you.
I guess I've been too stressed out thinking about the probabilities... too absorbed with myself and petty stuff. I should go out more, party like crazy, attend weddings and smell the roses once in a while. I don't even remember the last wedding I went to or who the couple was... how pathetic!
What I do remember are the kampung (village) weddings I used to attend back when I was just a little girl... I was probably around 9 or 10 years old. Now, weddings those days people party like crazy. The oldies would guzzle bottles upon bottles of local rice wine. They'd be drunk silly and one or two drunken fellas would be lying on the kitchen floor until the next morning. It was an unpleasant sight, especially for a 9 year old girl.
The things I dread most is when the drunken fellas start to fight. I hate fights... arguments are fine with me but not when two drunken people start talking nonsense, throwing punches and kicking tables and chairs. I've seen quite a few fights in my lifetime and those kind of images tend to get stuck in my mind.
But those are stories of years gone by. Perhaps it's different now since most weddings are held in restaurants and hotels. If you're looking for great destination weddings, check out resorts and hotels that offer such packages. Having a wedding planner surely helps a lot and should there be any fights erupt between drunken fellas, the security personnel would professionally handle those with ease.
It almost makes me feel like wanting to attend weddings again. Anyone getting married soon? LOL!
Drunken stupors and weddings go hand in hand:D No wedding is complete without someone getting totally stone..haha!

thank you so much.
Mat Dingo ~ But is it really necessary to get drunk? Hmmm... if I serve Shandy only, can ah?? I don't think one can get drunk by drinking Shandy ya :)
ReplyDeleteAnny ~ A bit only is OK :) I have a problem with those who don't know the limit and end up embarrassing themselves. The worst is when they make a scene and ruin the wedding.
I don't drink Anny... OK, maybe just a sip. And that's it... anyone who forces me will get a sharp laser penetrating look from me... hahaha
Puppy? Errr... wat puppy?! *scratches head* ;)
TH ~ LOL! Sean sure knows when to wake up.
Mama Mia ~ Sia dulu buat di rumah... memang sempit la banding kalau buat di dewan. Panas lagi tu, mekap pun cair sampai muka berkilat-kilat... hehe
Melandria ~ Good luck with your contest and the YouSayToo awards. I've put up your ad as requested :)
I love attending weddings, they're so much fun. Nowadays though with wedding planners and all, everything is choreographed to go on smoothly. There's not much spontaniety or excitement :)
ReplyDeleteHi Jellybelly! Welcome to Mumblings :)
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer it to run smoothly than a disastrous one. Wedding planners are there to help with the invitations, cakes, flowers, decor, etc. I don't think their job has anything to do with spontaneity.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting :)
Sounds like you need to party. Maybe you should think about getting a puppy. Whenever I feel blue I reach down and pet her.
ReplyDeleteI am a man and I get panic attacks also. I can't go into the mall or bookstores. But remember one thing. They pass. Don't let them rule your life.
Have a good day.
Thanks for the advice, Grampy.
ReplyDeleteThere are days when it's not so bad and days when it's just too much to bear; I'd feel like hiding in a closet!
