It happens every year not just on Chinese New Year so I'll just have to bear with the noise and watch some TV, I hope Astro has lined up interesting shows to watch for the long holiday. It's eerily quiet at the moment, maybe my neighbors are busy cooking. I can smell some nice aroma wafting through the window right now...
The place is extra quiet since my younger boy has gone out to his classmate's house just a few blocks away. He has been pestering me to let him visit his friend all week. I don't normally allow him to go on his own but he was adamant to go without his big brother tagging along. I'm worried but he's a big boy now, already 11 years old so I relented.
I'm having my very own little fiesta eating junk food... kuaci (sunflower seeds), Mandarin oranges, cashew-nut biscuits, ice cream and Toblerone chocolate. I'm just going to enjoy the long Chinese New Year holidays by lazing around. I don't feel like going out at all coz it's blazing super duper hot these days. I hate to go out when I'm all sticky and sweaty.

So, to all my Chinese friends and readers, here's wishing you a very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year of the Golden Tiger! Gong Xi Fa Cai!! I don't mind getting some angpau packets... errr... for my sons la.
And Happy Valentine's Day too!
There's only one Chinese family living here - they own the Chinese restaurant, which they will close for the weekend celebration. So, no Chinese take-out for us until Monday ;-)
ReplyDeleteAre they still aloud to use fire-crackers where you live???
Sorry, I meant 'allowed'...I was thinking of loud (hehe)
ReplyDeleteNessa just put down the snacks and go for a walk. I bet someone invites you to have some fun with them.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sounds and smells of the season :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines Day to you also
Despite being surrounded by Chinese neighbors, it's quiet here at my place. Everyone went out to their reunion dinner it seems.
ReplyDeleteNo firecrackers too. Which is weird because during Deepavali we can't sleep because some punks deemed it fun to play firecrackers all night long.
ahhhhhhhh..my fav ice cream... :0 Hapy chinese new year and happy valentine day to you and hubby :D
ReplyDeletewah wah wah, masa untuk seronok sendiri ya ; )
ReplyDeleteDuni ~ Sori for the late reply... was lazy as a sleepy tiger this past week :)
ReplyDeleteIt's actually banned but somehow people always have a way to get their supply. Sparklers are OK though.
Grampy ~ LOL! Well, my neighbors (left and right) actually sent me some CNY goodies so I was pretty happy and stuffed that day... hehe
Ann ~ Thank you :)
Lina ~ LOL! You know the same thing happened during Deepavali. Lots and lots of firecrackers... I was so surprised. CNY was tame compared to Deepavali! Thanks for dropping by :)
Emelda ~ My fav actually is the split... lime ice outside and vanilla cream inside tapi kehabisan stok. Thanks Mel... hope you had a fabulous time on both occasions ;)
Rizal ~ Small teeny weeny scale je. When no one invites you, buat parti sendiri! :D
