Silent Night

Hooray!! I hear raindrops... it's raining!!

It hasn't rained for the past few days and I've had trouble sleeping. I don't have air-conditioning so imagine yourself in a sweltering heat of a sauna-like room... not the most comfiest way to sleep I can assure you.

There's a saying that regards any rain during special occasions as blessings from above. Well, it's the Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day as well so I do hope this rain brings change to my luck and life. I'm not a superstitious person and I don't believe in such things but I guess it doesn't hurt to have such hope, right? Maybe with some new luck coming in, I could go and buy gold bullions and even make some profits from it!

I expected a noisy atmosphere since my neighbors are celebrating the Chinese New Year but surprisingly it has been pretty quiet. I did hear a few firecrackers being let off earlier but now it's all quiet again, too quiet actually. Even the roadside outside my place is pretty empty, normally you'd get inconsiderate people parking haphazardly, squeezing their cars in every space available but not tonight. Even the kids were well-behaved... hmmmm...

Maybe it's the new way to celebrate... without the din and ruckus. Hey, that means I could finally sleep soundly without being startled by firecrackers and fireworks during Chinese New Year. That will be a record indeed.
