. So yesterday I was at Sunway Pyramid running errands when this little stall with a lovely sign caught my eye and stopped me in my tracks.
It says "Cupcake Chic". Oh-my! My heart skipped a beat because I love, love cupcakes!
There were so many flavors to choose from and I couldn't make up my mind so I asked the guy to pick and choose the cupcakes for me.
I didn't know which was which but these were their fancy schmancy names ~ 24 Karat, Peaches 'n Cream, Naughty 'n Nice, Cookies 'n Cream, Fatal Attraction and Persian Love. These were on promo (buy 5 get 1 free) @RM22.50. Yeah, pricey but I am a cupcake lover so I just made my purchase minus the guilt.
Imagine my disappointment when the cupcakes didn't taste the way I expected them to be. The frosting tasted way too sweet and not buttery/creamy. The most horrid tasting was the cupcake with the green cream! My verdict : Pweety on the outside but taste wise... for me I'll give it a 2 out of 5. Anyone knows where to buy yummy, creamy and cheesy cupcakes?? Lemme know k.
On a happy note, I did find a nice makan shop called Simply Penang located on the Lower Ground floor (same level with Tony Roma's). Their Assam fish is simply sedapssss... now, I feel like going for another plateful of Assam fish again!!

ReplyDeleteHey Nessa, I've tried Chic before too and memang betul... cake all taste sama je only the icing different2 kaler... me no likey too.. beli sekali je then didn buy again! I still love Cuppacakes the best.. cake and icing dua2 yummy! :)

Nancy's makes wonderful cupcakes.. it is small with buttercream.. sedops. Nancy is of course in Ipoh.. very famous baker. Even the Sultan orders from her.
Boo's.. urmm.. urmmm.. :D sometimes makes nice cupcakes if she gets lucky :p
i simply cant stand cupcakes punya sweetness. maybe sia belum jumpa yg betul2 sedap dan yg tia telampau manis. :)

Price oso hoity toity la kat Marmalade tu kan? As long as food served is great, I tak brapa kisah la hoity or not and must have aircon too, got kipas pun ok la. I can't stand extreme heat la Anny, I get angry when I sweat like oink, oink!
