The Mumbling Tree...

Yeah, soon my 'mumbling tree' will be planted! How cool is that! Say what?? confused

A few days ago, I read an interesting post on Rose' World about this brilliant project by the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree for your blog.

“My blog is carbon neutral” is an initiative, originally started in Germany by the “Make it Green” programme, that has the goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. They plant a tree for your blog and thereby neutralize your blog’s carbon footprint for the next 50 years! Everyone can make a small contribution to the environment cos every tree counts!

In order to be eligible, you need to write a short post about their programme “My blog is carbon neutral” and include one of the buttons available on their site.

Don't forget to email the link of your post to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de and they will plant a tree for your blog in Plumas’! The scheduled start plant date is Monday, April 19. Easy, right?

Excerpt taken from the website...
"For every single one of the participating blogs, “Make it Green” and “Arbor Day Foundation” are planting a tree in Plumas National Forest. With your support, we are helping reforest Plumas National Forest with as much trees as possible. In the spring of 2010, Douglas-fir, red and white firs, and incense cedars will be planted alongside ponderosa pine and sugar pine trees. These new trees will help prevent soot and soil runoff into Plumas’ precious water supplies. Now, we are reforesting it with your help!"
I do hope I get to visit Plumas National Forest one day. I wonder which tree species they'll plant for my blog... the ponderosa pine maybe?? thinkbiggrin

About 85 percent of the National Forest lies in Plumas County, but smaller portions are found in eastern Butte, northern Sierra, southern Lassen, and northeastern Yuba counties. ~ Wikipedia
