Numbers And Papers

Absolutely ah-may-zingggg!! My paper cutting just pales in comparison... blush

Thick colored papers I bought for my paper cutting project or rather my part time hobby has been gathering dust. I haven't done any paper cuttings for more than a year now. I'm just not inspired... well to be frank, it's just plain 'ol laziness on my part.

I've been so busy dealing with numbers and figures lately. Geez! I hate math, I dreaded math class so much in school... I really feared my math/add math teacher. She was a sweet lady, but a strict person. I don't think I understood even 50% of what was taught. I remember telling my classmate I wasn't born to understand math... that was said in desperation when I really couldn't grasp the formulas. I'm amazed I end up doing and looking at figures on a daily basis; life is weird! Thank god for the calculator... hahaha!

OK, back to these stunning paper sculpture...

Bird in the woods...

The banana lady...

Carlos Meira is an artist whose soft sculpting skills have been appreciated the world over. Paper sculpting is a fragile art that exhibits joys and splendor of festivities of Brazil. His designs are inspired by Brazilian soccer players and carnival festivals. The sculptures are so rich in volume and flawless that at first glimpse they appear to be three dimensional. The characters are inspired from real life but look three dimensional owing to the precision that Carlos puts into every crease and fold of paper.

ps. Do you know what I hate most when it comes to writing a post?? It's the darn blardy title!! Sometimes... well, most of the time I end up thinking way too much and too long just to give my post a title. Grrrr...
