27 Dresses

Nope, this post is not about the movie but it has something to do with a dress.wink

This dress is so cute! I feel like wearing one but the problem is I'd look like a stuffed sausage if I did...blush. I'd have to lose loads of flab before I could fit myself nicely into it.

It looks simple and easy to make. How I wish I learned to sew my own clothes, just like my late mom did. I was in Home Economics class when I was in Form 1 and I made my very own pajamas. It was yellow and had these cute animal motifs on the fabric. Too bad I misplaced and lost it... not that I could fit into it but it would have been great as a keepsake.

I'm actually not a dress person. I don't even have a single dress in my closet except for the Baju Kurung (a traditional dress for Malay women). My clothes are mostly blouses and trousers (and very few skirts). That's because pants allow more freedom and easy to move around... one also don't have to be mindful when seated. I had leg cramps during a seminar a few years back (when I decided to wear a knee-length skirt instead of trousers) as I had to sit 'properly' and not 'terkangkang'... you know, if you forget you're wearing a skirt, the whole world would have a field day knowing what you wore underneath... LOL!

I'm most comfortable wearing t-shirts and jeans. But it would be nice to wear dresses once in a while. I am in the process of 'changing my lifestyle'... in particular my eating habits. After years of stuffing myself silly with unhealthy food with excessive calories, I now have to bear the consequences. I can't consume sweet sugary, dairy, creamy stuff as and when I please until my health returns to normal. I owe it to myself to take better care of me.

So I have been scouring the Net for some Health Facts information. Did you know that it's not that hard to lose weight? Yup... you only need to understand two things. First is to determine how many calories you need in a day and second is to eat less calories than you use. Sounds easy huh. Yeah... easier said than done but it CAN be done.

  1. OMFG nessa, I'm so like u. I used to not have any dress in my closet. But since I went on a maxi dress spree, I don't have the one as shown on picture, I owez get those smoke types for the bust area types. But I still prefer to wear comfortable clothes. I can't seem to dress myself up like other girls ;_;

  2. I'm more of a jeans and tshirt kind of person myself but I don't mind wearing a dress now and then. That one is really cute. I can sew a little but nothing real difficult. I made several dresses for my daughter when she was little.

  6. Oh, I wish you had kept those PJ's - would love to have seen them :)
    I have a few dresses, but I don't get to wear them much (too cold). I'm not sure I like the maxi-dress - it will look like a nightgown on me :)

  8. Well, I'm your typical girly type who drools over pretty dresses.

    Tapi yalah, alangkah bagusnya kalau sendiri pandai bikin baju sendiri kan.
