Words + Pictures = Book

There is an exhibition currently ongoing at Petronas Gallery called 'Words + Pictures = Book'. It showcases 30 illustrations from 10 new children's picture books by Malaysian illustrators. My good friend Emila Yusof, who is a freelance illustrator cum graphic designer and also a blogger is involved in this exhibition and I've always wanted to see her work up close.

Taking photos is NOT allowed but somehow I managed to take a few sneaky shots... hehehe

The visit today was unplanned as I was meeting an ex-colleague at KLCC for a lunch date and since I arrived early, I decided to visit the exhibition before meeting her. Sorry Emila... I would have loved to meet you there but it was such a short notice and I didn't want to rush you.

If you're nearby KLCC, do visit the exhibition. It is open to all and admission is FREE. Galeri Petronas is located at Level 3, Suria KLCC. The exhibition is on until 26th September 2010.

"My Mother's Garden" is a treasure of flowers, bees, dragonflies and butterflies. Learn the names of some tropical flowers and plants at the back of the book where they are listed in their English and Bahasa Malaysia common names and scientific names.

Emila recently published her own children's book entitled 'My Mother's Garden'. It is a beautifully illustrated book in full colors. Feel free to visit and browse through her littleshop. There is something for everyone!
