Children are like kites. You spend years trying to get them off the ground... Finally, they are airborne. They need more strings and you keep letting it out. The kite becomes more distant, and you know it won't be long before that beautiful creature will snap the lifeline that binds you together and will soar as it's meant to soar... free and alone. Only then do you know that you have done your job.
Be thankful for your child - problems, weaknesses and all. Your child is still a gift to you, and to a world that needs people who have learned to conquer their difficulties and weaknesses. Don't give up! Your child could influence thousands some day.
A very worthy post that tells of the value of children.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, you actually know stuff like this. I would have never known it was international children's day if it came up and bit me :) Happy International Children's Day to all you Kiddo's out there :)
ReplyDeleteIt is ironic that kids simultaneously make you young AND old!
