Malaysia's SYTYCD Top 4

In case you're wondering, the acronym refers to 'So You Think You Can Dance', a dance reality show and contest which is currently being aired on the local station 8TV. The four finalists are:-
  • Muhammad Haslam aka Alam (a breakdancer from Johor) WINNER!!
  • Brancy Tan ( specialises in 'Belly-Fusion' from Ipoh, Perak)
  • Suhaili Micheline aka Sue (a ballet expert and children's dance instructor from Subang Jaya)
  • Dennis Yin aka Dennis The Menace ( a cheerleader from Subang Jaya)
When the show was aired last month, I was skeptical. Having seen the US version, it is a mighty feat to live up to its standards. But the Malaysian bunch were not that bad after seeing them performing Paso Doble, Fox Trot, Samba, Mambo, Jive, jazz, to name a few. My personal favourite has to be Sue. She has a great body and is lovely to watch. But I'm done with voting... if she wins, great! If she doesn't then, it's not meant to be. Once bitten, twice shy as they say.

One thing I look forward to in this show is Ramli Ibrahim, who is one of the judges of the show. He is very articulate and precise in his choice of words. I haven't seen him dance and it would be wonderful if the producers of the show give him the opportunity to perform during the finals next week. The only thing I dislike in this show is the female host. They could've hired a better host in my opinion. She just gets on my nerves every time she opens her mouth... grrrrr.... Ok, enuff ramblings already! Have a great weekend everyone:)

  2. Yeah, painful! I don't understand why some hosts esp. females have to be soooo excited. It makes things look fake. I want to see the show, not the host. Thanks Sally for dropping by:)

  3. Do you noticed how most female hosts in our country tend to get exaggerated most of the time? hehehe..

I haven't watched the Malaysian version oh.. guess I gotta turn my TV to Malaysian station often. :D

PS: You mentioned to me once that "Brancy" looked kinda like me? Wah! I haven't seen her.. so I don't know. LOL! But if I can dance like her, lagi best. I can lose weight a lot!

  4. Obrigado Rodrigo. Posso eu ter a camisa para livre?:)

Cindy - You're right about the exaggeration, macam tida pernah masuk tv saja... hehehe... I tried to look for Brancy's pic but couldn't find la. Youtube has the videos but her image is unclear. Tune to 8TV on Thursday @9.30pm:)

  5. I've seen the show and you're right, Ramli is extremely articulate and very descriptive in his judging style. His choice out words is simply out of this world :) I wonder if the contestants even understand some of what he say ... hehehe ... He is a great dancer and I've had the chance to actually see him dance once long ago on TV.

  6. You got that right:) Our DJ's and newscasters should learn from him. They speak with a slang that sometimes it's hard to understand what they're saying!

  9. MD - Can't have 2 winners ya know. You have to choose one only la:)

Mariuca - Yeah, I kinda like Alam too. But in the 'looks' department, Dennis surely rakes in the votes. I can hear the teens screaming like mad for him... hehe
