What I'm Reading ~ Mayday!

My first book by Clive Cussler was borrowed from a friend. I've read several books so far and Mayday! is my 7th of the Clive Cussler series. My favorite character is definitely the hero, Dirk Pitt! He is like agent 007, a woman's magnet and always dicing with death except he doesn't need the help of those gadgets. He has the brains and brawn to assist him in all his adventures.

There's also Al Giordino, his side-kick. Strong, comedic, burly and a reliable friend when Dirk is in trouble. I'm definitely going to read all of Dirk Pitt's adventures.

Synopsis

Major Dirk Pitt picked up the frantic distress call as he cruised his lumbering amphibious plane over the islands of the Aegean. Brady Air Force Base, ten miles away, was under fire, its entire force of jets destroyed on the ground... and the aggressor was a single world War 1 bi-plane!

Pitt's determination to solve the mystery behind this deadly echo from the past leads him into deep and treacherous waters. His encounters with a psychotic ex-Nazi, a vicious narcotics dealer, a bloodthirsty Greek strongman and a beautiful double-agent set him finally on the trail of the mastermind behind a devastating sabotage plot. But on that trail, danger and death are never far behind...

  1. hmmm.. I've always seen Clive Cussler punya books but never gotten around to actually buying one.

Maybe should try soon.. But then again, with the new baby coming along, I don't think I'd have the time to read a book.

But I really enjoy James Patterson books.. and also Sidney Sheldon. Too bad he passed away already.. :(

  3. Shemah - Read it if you like adventure (where the hero will always pull through in every situation, just like Bond!)

  4. Crystal - Now you've heard of him! Hehe... mysteries? Reminds me of The Famous Five back when I was in standard Four. I loved reading Nancy Drew too.
