Let the show begins! I can't wait to see the new season, new contestants! I hope they don't focus too much on the weirdos during the auditions though. It's irritating. One contestant I can't seem to get off my mind is that Big Bird Yellow woman and that funny looking guy with the big eyes; the one Simon said resembled a forest creature or something. I adore Simon, maybe adore is a strong word but he's the only judge on AI that makes sense. Paula... she's just too sweet...

Oh my! There are just so many TV shows lined up, I do hope I have time or rather I am able to watch all of them. Heroes 2 is showing next week... and So You Think You Can Dance Malaysia Season 2 as well. And let's not forget Akademi Fantasia 6! I can't afford to miss Amazing Race Asia 2 and OIAM2 currently airing on AXN and 8TV respectively. I know I could always watch repeats but nah... there's no thrill in that. Arrghhh... I'm losing my mind! LOL

Yeah, I have reality show mania... but I don't watch all reality shows. I hate Cornetto Love Perhaps... so fake! So my friends, if you don't see much postings here it's just that I'll be glued to the TV. But knowing me, I'll definitely post something :)

After going through the auditions (what a pain watching/listening to those who can't even sing), I am so glad the judges finally selected the top 24!

My favorite has to be Aussie guy Michael Johns and the 16 year old boy, I totally am in love with his voice...

Male Top 12- 1st Performance (Jan 20th)

Best Performance in my opinion was by Jason Castro! I was really happy when he performed (weird). Really unexpected... can't blame me as nothing much shown about him during the auditions.

Michael Johns as expected delivered, but I didn't quite like the song 'Light My Fire'. David Archuleta was giggly but adorable... should have sang a slower number to showcase his beautiful voice.

I think the carpet cleaner guy and the pale boy with freaky hair will get the boot.

Female Top 12 - 1st Performance (Jan 21st)

I really love bubbly girl Asia'h Epperson! She has a husky, sexy and kinda 'Tina Turner'-ish voice. I liked Kady Malloy too, she was really cute imitating Britney :) Syesha was pretty good too, just didn't like her choice of song. I think Amy Davis will get the boot... her performance was a total bore... ZzzzzZ...

Top 24 Results

Amy Davis, Joanne Borgella, Garrett Haley and Colton Berry were eliminated! Well, I got 2 correct predictions out of 4 :) I didn't expect Colton to go out though. I thought it would be Jason Yeager instead. His son looked like a young Leonardo DiCaprio.

Male Top 10

I love this boy! And I loved the way he sang 'Imagine'... ballads are truly his forte. Had goosebumps hearing him sing. Soothing and inspiring. Way to go David :D He is just so adorable, very confident when he sings but the moment he finishes, he's like a little innocent goo goo ga ga bashful boy. A bit like Melinda Doolittle but he gets away with it!

Michael Johns was a disappointment... I didn't like his song choice. He should sing something that sounded like 'Bohemian Rhapsody' (I so badly want to hear him sing that song again!), like the judges always say each week... pick the right songs!

Robbie Carrico (rocker wannabe) and Jason Yeager (it was a torture hearing/seeing him sing and dance..ughh!) will be booted off tomorrow... I'm sure of it, unless America votes otherwise.

Female Top 10

The ladies were a disappointment tonight :( Really bad song choices. What on earth did Kady sing?! But I still like Kady, I hope she doesn't get eliminated tomorrow. The only one who performed fairly well was Brooke White, she was original. I love Asia'h but tonight, I didn't like her performance. She looks better with her big wavy hair. Amanda was scary.. what's with that hairstyle?? It only made her look even older. I really want to hear her sing something sentimental. I know she's a rocker but rock songs all the time?? Variety please!

I think Alexandria Lushington (she should have never sang that Chicago song) and maybe Alaina Whitaker will get eliminated. We'll see :)

Well, well, what do you know?? I got all 4 predictions right, whoaa... I'm stunned! Woohoo, so happy :D

Alexandria Lushington, Alaina Whitaker (the girl with OCD), Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico were booted out from the competition. It's down to 16 contestants... just one more performance before it goes to a bigger stage, bigger audience. I can't wait :)

I definitely enjoyed 80's night! Growing up in the 80's, I definitely recognized most of the songs :) Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed performances by David Cook (Hello - Lionel Ritchie) and Jason Castro (Halleluyah). Castro seems like a sentimental and passionate kinda guy, just from the way he sings. I was never a fan of Phil Collins, but I'm glad David Archuleta's rendition of 'Another Day In Paradise' was pretty decent. I'll hand out best performance to David Cook, he's really intelligent in making songs to suit his style. Hello was awesome!

Michael Johns was OK, but I'm waiting for him to 'blow my mind' ... like he did when he sang Bohemian Rhapsody. I could never get that tune out of my mind. The worst tonight was Luke Menard. The song 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' needed to be sang with gusto, go crazy kinda way. He was mellow and uninspiring. So, my pick to be eliminated is Luke Menard and Chikezie Eze. I find Danny Noriega 'endearing', for hating Simon Cowell publicly! Haha

Female Top 8

I didn't like the girls performance tonight. Kinda bland, no one really stood out... except for Brooke. She's just different. I'm bored with Amanda rocking... I want to hear her sing slow songs. So, I don't have any favorite tonight coz no one really blew me away. This one's tough to predict but my pick to be eliminated are : Asia'h Epperson ( I love this girl but her performance for the past 2 weeks was boring, nothing great. She was awesome during the auditions though), and maybe Amanda Overmyer. Of course I'm just trying to save Kady because I like her, but she's probably leaving tomorrow night :( Sighhh...

Top 12 Performance (Lennon/McCartney Song book)

I like Beatles, but I'm not exactly a fan so tonight's performance for me was boring. Didn't like any of the songs, except for 'Let It Be'. I'm unfamiliar with the other songs :(

Gahhhh! David Archuleta forgot his lyrics... twice!! OMG... but the judges were too lenient with him. If it was the other guys, they would have been slaughtered. No, I don't hate Archuleta... but I think the judges are bias when comes to him. Maybe it's because he's cute and adorable. Has an amazing voice for a 16 year old. I wouldn't worry. He's got a guaranteed ticket to the finals :)

Best performance? I don't know... as much as I wanted to like someone but nobody gave me goosebumps. I loved Castro but his performance was kinda timid. The feelings were there but his voice was 'too tiny'. I don't know how else to describe it. Kristy Lee was horrendous, I hated the music... like Danny Noriega would say TMTH! (Too much to handle). As for the rocker nurse, lose that hair already. It's weird... looked as if a skunk landed on her head!

Top 11 Performance (The Beatles)

I don't like tonight's theme, for me it's the same as last week's. The show was started by Amanda. Oh god, not another rock song. I'm totally bored, I know what's she's gonna sing or sound like even before she opens her mouth. No one is against her for being a rock chick, but you have to show your versatility. I hate it when she talks big and mentions about 'her' concert. Helloo?? Why so cocky??

Never mind, next contestant is (arrgghh) Kristy Lee Cook. I could still hear that awful song she sang last week! She sang 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away'. Bad song choice, didn't suit her at all. It was bland, not enjoyable. I try hard to like this girl. I'd listen to Kady Malloy's Britney impersonation anytime! LOL

David Archuleta is next. It's difficult not to like this boy. He sings flawlessly. I was in tears... He redeemed himself after last week's awful performance. This boy sings with his heart, but the moment he's done with singing, he has that 'Oh, I can't believe people loved my performance' kinda look. Enough with that, just accept the adulation :D

Michael Johns was mediocre, didn't like the song. Brooke White wears yellow, too much yellow (gasp! awful dress). I dislike it when the contestants give excuses for their performance. Just listen to those judges. It was the same with Carly. I find it difficult to like her. She looks 'mean' and those tattoos distract me.

Syesha was awesome, loved her rendition of 'Yesterday'. So, best performance for me goes to David Archuleta and Syesha because they entertained me :D

Top 10 Performance (Year Of Birth Songs)

David Cook = Awesome! I never liked 'Billie Jean' but David's rendition was totally different from MJ's, my jaw dropped when he sang the song. The best performance of the night!! :D I still find it hard to like David, but he's the most consistent and intelligent.

I'm happy with Michael Johns' performance tonight. Though nowhere near 'Bohemian Rhapsody' but it was enough to send shivers down my spine! LOL He's definitely safe tomorrow night :)

I won't comment the others' performances, as they didn't give me any impact. Some predictable, bland, boring, cheesy and why would anyone wanna sing a patriotic song?? AI should have a Patriotic Night theme to be fair to the others. Oh well, I know one contestant I badly want eliminated will get eliminated eventually. There is no way she'll win the competition.

Top 9 Performance (Dolly Parton's songs)

OK, I'm not much of a country fan. But I do like Eagles though. I was 13 when I heard Dolly Parton singing 'Islands In The Stream' with Kenny Rogers. I cannot stand listening to country songs with excessive 'twang'. It's just weird. So, I was surprised to hear some very good songs chosen by the finalists last night. I enjoyed listening to Archuleta and I absolutely loved Michael Johns' rendition of 'It's Alright, But It's Not Wrong'. It was superb, IMHO.

I thought Carly was pretty good, bored with Brooke, Ramiele and Kristy! David Cook was OK, but I wasn't too keen on listening to Little Sparrow... odd song.

Top 8 Performance (Inspirational Songs)

I'm not a fan of Kristy but she sang my favorite song 'Anyway' pretty decent. Archuleta as always was inspiring. 'Angel' happens to be one of my favorites as well :) I'm not familiar with Cooks' song, I've never heard of it before... it sounds weird.

Simon was spot on with Carly, she looked angry. It should be inspiring but it scared it instead... haha! I don't know what Syesha is doing... why is she attempting all the big songs? Less is more sometimes, like she did with 'Yesterday'. Brooke didn't wow me, Jason didn't wow me... what's with the tiny guitar? I liked McPhee's rendition better.

I find it odd that people complain about Archuleta singing ballads all the time. He's good at it. Period. Why attempt something you're not good at? Even Brooke, Jason, Kristy and Cook sing the same genre of song all the time. You can't blame David A. coz he's young and adored by teens. I'm not a teen and I've liked him during the auditions. Give him credit, he CAN sing.

Top 7 Performance (Mariah Carey)

Awesome coz I love Mariah! :) I'm not too sure if the contestants can pull this off, Mariah's songs are rather difficult. But we shall see how they improvise. First on stage was David Archuleta, singing 'When You Believe'. Not bad, his voice is suitable for this song, definitely.

Syesha sang Vanishing, this was one of Mariah's difficult songs to sing. It sounded off key, perhaps I'm not used to her way of singing it. I didn't like it. Brooke played the piano, bare footed as she couldn't play with her shoes on. Reminds me of some people who are unable to drive with their shoes on... She sang 'Hero'. It sounded as if she was rushing, not her best performance in my opinion.

Kristy was pretty good tonight, kinda retro with big hair. I've never heard this song by Mariah before. I kinda like this song, but I don't really like Kristy ever since she sang that horrid 'Eight Days A Week' on Beatles nite. OMG! The judges actually loved David Cook's rendition of 'Be My Baby'. I thought he totally ruined that lovely song. I don't get it at all. Castro plays a tiny guitar (forgot what it's called... a Ukelele??), singing another one of my favorite Mariah song. Errr... it was weird, but I'm kinda mesmerized by his eyes! LOL

I'm not into musicals but I hope the contestants won't sing dull songs tonight. I'm not being mean but do you notice how odd Lord Andrew looks? But he seems like a nice person though. Anyway, back to the show!

I liked both Davids performances :) It's unacceptable for Brooke to stop start. If it was the auditions, I'm sure Simon would have said 'No' to her. I disagree... if that's the case, then every one can stop start. Jason was... mellow. I couldn't hear what he was singing most most the time. I thought Syesha and Carly did a good job. They both entertained me :)

I'm getting bored with AI mentors being oldies. No offense but they're so outdated. It has been pretty dull the past few weeks, except for Mariah Carey night. OK, let's get on with it...


Oh dear, 2 songs for each contestants... they show was pretty rushed tonight. 10 songs in 1 hour plus the judges comments. What's with Paula?? Is she high?? That was weird... the look on Ryan was priceless but he was quick to 'handle' the situation.

Tonight, I only enjoyed David Cooks performance, the 2nd song. It sounded current, I have no idea how the original Neil Diamond song sounded like. Brooke was lousy on her 1st song, but she nailed it on her 2nd song... loved it :) Archuleta didn't sound as good as the previous weeks' performance; maybe it was the songs. I didn't both songs.
