I love barbecues and was actually trying to catch this show for quite sometime now but have always missed it until last night. Well, I'm glad I managed to catch it cos he did have some nice recipes and styles for barbecuing and I'm also taken in with the grill set that he was using. I would love to own one of those.
Back home, whenever we had a barbecue, we used this old griller that we have and start the fire using charcoal and it would take ages before the fire got going. We'd all be sweaty and smelly by the time the barbecue started... hehehe. Unlike the one I saw on TV yesterday, it's gas powered and you don't need to work up a sweat at all to start the barbecue going.
All one had to do was maybe turn on the gas and get the grill set heated up and in a few minutes, you're all set to barbecue away! No need to stand for hours just fanning the charcoal trying to get it going, no ashes flying here and there. Maybe one day I'll get one for myself so I can show off my new cool sleek barbecue grill the next time I host a barbecue or something... hehehe ... Now back to me fantasizing about all those grilled food I saw on TV yesterday ...
Oh I love that show! The way he describes cooking is delicious (pun intended). We use an old-style grill back home, just a pit with wires on top. It DOES take a crapload of time to start the coals up, but hey, as long as the whole family is into it, I say, GRILL ON!

I agree!! The whole ya puan2 thing is getting old. It's like totally designed for "aunties", man! I mean we are totally hip mothers, Nessa!! Hahahaha!

Just wanted to tell you all that there's a kind of charcoal called Quick start or something like that, sold in Tesco in boxes (RM 5 - 6) per box. NO firestarter required, just light up a piece and throw it in with the rest, all will light up and ready for BBQ in less than 15 mins.
