The Monster In Me

One thing great about living in Malaysia is the abundance of holidays that we have. I'd like to wish all Hindus a blessed Thaipusam which falls this Wednesday.

My youngest son will be 9 years old tomorrow... how time flies. I remember having those unbearable labor pains, it lasted for about a couple of hours (thank God!), he was out and I saw his wrinkly little face. Now he is a big boy, extremely mischievous yet very endearing at times. He drives me up the wall every single day without fail. Kids... I mean boys! I don't remember being mischievous at all when I was a kid.

Well, I guess maybe it's coz I pamper him too much. There are countless times he gets on my nerves for doing the things he's not supposed to do and I always end up scolding him. I think he has become immune to the scoldings that he doesn't even bat an eyelid. But he sure knows I mean business when I start to scream like a mad woman. Then he's all ears...

I hate getting angry, losing my temper and resorting to screaming when all else fails. It's draining and it's not good for the heart! It depresses me at times. Makes me feel so low. Maybe I should check out some online pharmacy for anti depressants. Yeah, it's that bad. Any moms out there who has conquered the monster in them? Even when the kids turned the house into a pig sty and you're still as cool as a cucumber... that I need to know!

  1. No worries sis.. you are not alone. I know how you feel after the screaming and scolding and I feel bad too when I lose my temper but it seems that they would only listen if treated that way.

Yeah.. how come kids nowadays are so smart? You know when I scold Vanessa, she would tell me to play with the computer! Grrr!

  3. Ann - They're smart alright! Kalau kita masa kecik2 dulu pandai menjawap, kena tempeleng suda.

    Somebody saveee me...

Tulah... time reali flies, and I'm not having fun pun. Kids just grow up in a blink of an eye. I can no longer lift him up... berat dia skrang lebih kurang 2 3/4 tong gas!

  5. LOL!! He is like Vanessa... everytime she behaves, she will ask for presents (bikin bankrupt).

Bah, tell him that I will give him his gift next year. :D

  6. Ann - You don't know lagi, everytime I ask him to do things for me, he'll ask me what his 'upah' will be.

Reminds me of the days we cuci (reluctantly) the dirty botol2 beer for mum's talak... mesti minta bayar $5 kan. Funny la... sedih pun ada juga...

What I'd do for her to be around, I'd wash all the botol2 for her without complaints, I'd even make the talak myself!
