My toaster died on me this morning. There I was making breakfast for the boys as usual. I plug in the toaster, pop down two slices of bread and the next thing I knew, I smelled something burning, then there were sparks and the whole kitchen was filled with smoke!
Geez, I got the scare of my life. I quickly switched off the main switch and stood by a few feet away from it and stared at it as it slowly stopped smoking. I'm perplexed as to what in heavens name just happened not to mentioned the fright it gave me at such an early hour of the day. My heart nearly stopped. Thank god I don't have a weak heart or I'd have been toast! LOL!
I guess I'm going to be looking for places selling toasters soon. Well, maybe it was time for that toaster to bite the dust seeing as how I've had it for quite a long time already, well, a couple of years actually. The only thing is I'm just too lazy to go out and look for a new one. There are electrical shops near my but just to get there and get a parking and all is really such a hassle and that place is perpetually packed with cars irrespective of whether it's peak hours or not.
Maybe I'll get it the next time I go shopping. The only drawback is I can't really negotiate for a better price cos the price is fixed unlike the electrical stores where I know I can haggle with them on pricing. Ok, I know toasters don't cost all that much but hey, a dollar saved is a dollar saved! Maybe I shouldn't be so lazy and just take a drive to the electrical shop and buy one soon.
Is it safe to say that your toast got really toasted. LOL!
ReplyDeleteYup, looks like it's time for you to go toaster hunting. There are some pretty cool looking ones out there in the market these days. They don't even look like toasters! LOL!
MD - I saw a cool looking toaster today, very retro but the price was more than RM200! I'm going toaster-hunting again tomorrow :)
