Whenever I go out grocery shopping, dinner or things like that and every time I hear one of those cool sounding Pop Ringtones blaring out some upbeat and current hit, I alway look at my phone and sigh loudly. You wanna know why? Well, that's cos my phone is so out of fashion and also out of time that I'm even too bloody embarrassed to display it in public!
I've been using this current phone that I have which is an Alcatel (do they even have that brand of cell phones anymore?) for as long as I can remember. I think I bought this way back 2002, yeah that's how long I've been having this cell phone. Back then when I first bought it, it was one of the very few models that had Polyphonic Ringtones.
In fact, it was one of the top of the line cell phones, it was small, the lightest phone in the market and it was sleek looking. I was proudly showing it off those days... hehehe... But now, every time I hear one of those kids with their fancy schmancy cell phone starts going off with those Hip Hop Ringtones I quickly hide my phone in my purse! How can my phone compare to theirs with the colour screen (oh, did I forget to mention my cell is still the old monochromatic one?) and hip sounding true tones, camera and GPRS and all that jazz.
I seriously got to start looking around for a new up to date model soon. I have a few that I've set my eyes upon and I'm going to get it soon but sometimes it's so hard to give up my old faithful of a clunker cos I have my younger boys voice in there as a ring tone which I recorded when he was a wee lad of 2 years old. I don't want to lose that and I need to find a way to save that voice of his and then maybe I can use that in my new phone when I get one instead of those Pop Ringtones that come with the phone.
Monochromatic screen? gee, you really need to get a new phone soon la ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it would be possible to transfer your son's voice to your new phone. Maybe when you buy a new one you can ask the phone guys to help you out :D
Seriously woman, it's time to get a new HP lol....
ReplyDeleteMy phone is 2 years+ old but I don't mind using it, although most of my friends (even both my parents!) have already been using the latest models. As long as I can receive calls and make calls, it's all OK.
ReplyDeleteUnless of course, someone offers to buy me a new phone. *heehee*
Nessa! You need a new phone indeed macam saya hehe! As for the sound or images files, no worries, you can always ask the phone seller to transfer them to your new phone!
ReplyDeleteYeah.. I remember Alcatel! LOL! But it's still in fine working conditions right?? Well, my husband had a "jurassic phone" too and really wanted one of those "ultra hip" phones with 1001 functions. But since he's not really good with the other 995 functions, then I told him to forget it.
ReplyDeleteIn the end he settled for a rm500 phone which is pretty good, sounds alright and can call/text me and the kids. :)
As Cindy said, as long as u can call and receive calls and text people, that's what matters most. :)
MD - Ya, I really do need a new phone :D I'll probably just keep that old Jurassic phone as a souvenir.
ReplyDeleteMarzie - I know, it's high time... I keep delaying it. But I also sedih to part with money... mahal tu HP baru :*(
ReplyDeleteHi My Sassy Mind! Welcome to Mumblings :) I've already added you. You have an interesting blog. Hope to see you around more often!
ReplyDeleteCindy - Well, that's true. It's just that mine is so ancient la... the ringtone itself is so memalukan (tit tit tot tut tut)!
ReplyDeleteKnowing how kedekut I am with money, I'll probably stick with it for another few months! LOL
Emila - That's great news :) I'll remember that when I do get myself a new HP!
ReplyDeleteShemah - It still works, place and receive calls, SMS, reminders, even calculator... but no colour, no MMS, no camera, no radio, no true tone. Hmmm, what else?? :$
ReplyDeleteI can't even find a new housing for it, the existing one is so badly scratched!
Talking abt hp, I use to have old and big hp LOL, a friend of mine jokingly said "mcm hp grandma", LOL..
ReplyDeleteLuthie - HP grandma ni mesti yang berat, tabal and panjang dia punya antena kan? They were the 'in' thing those days ya... Hehehe
ReplyDeleteYabah, lucukan? U know I told hubby abt my friend´s comment, the next day he brought me to a hp shop changed a new one, changgih, small, slim, sms, music..semua ada LOL..I am satisfied with it till now...
ReplyDeleteLuthie - Wah, ko untung dapat hubby yang penyayang :D
