You Spin Me Right Round ...

First and foremost, I am so happy for Adrian and Collin (Team Singapore) for winning the Amazing Race Asia 2! It pays to learn your flags people :) Kudos must go to the two lovely sisters, Pamela and Vanessa for clinching 2nd spot and leaving behind Rovilson and Mark in 3rd place. Gosh, what a race! I'm overjoyed! LOL

OK, now back to the topic at hand...

I'd like to thank whomever it was that invented a washing machine because I don't know what I'd do without it. The amount of clothes I have to wash at home would take forever if I had to do them manually, not forgetting that my arms would eventually look like Popeye, the Sailor Man... hehehe.

No matter how many times I wash the clothes at home, they somehow have a way of piling up again in no time. The boys goes through more changes of clothes in a day than a model does during a catwalk show. I don't know how they can go through so many clothes in one day that I can do a round of laundry in the morning and by evening the laundry basket is full again. I swear if you leave the pieces of clothes together in a laundry basket for a few hours they'll repopulate!

Now you can understand why I adore a washing machine... hehehe. Thank god I have a nice decent one over here unlike the one I have back home. Now that washing machine has a life of its own. Those days when I do my laundry, there is never a day that goes by that I don't scream and cuss at that useless piece of junk.

It's really an old machine and goes way back to my mom's days. I'd have to adjust the bloody drum inside at least 5-6 times before it can can spin. Somehow, the location the machine is placed on a not-so-flat surface and it tends to give the machine a lopsided feel to it making the drum dislodge itself a little from the centre of the machine. Too technical here but I think you get what I mean :)

I dreaded doing the laundry then cos I know I'd have to fight and grumble at that machine before it can even start. There are days when I'm in such a foul mood I'd even give it a swift kick! Not that it did much good except hurt my own feet... hehehe. But I'm grateful that it would eventually work just fine. Like I said, I don't fancy doing the laundry by hand. Not in this day and age. I'd seem like a little old fashioned village girl who have to take her clothes by the river to wash it... LOL!

Maybe the next time I go back home for the holidays or something, I'd get the home a new one. It'll make more sense than stressing myself out fighting with that machine just to get it running. Like as if doing the laundry isn't already stressful enough. Ok, that's all from me for now cos I just noticed the laundry basket has repopulated itself again and it's time to do the laundry again. Siggghhhhhh...

  3. I'm crying for those 2 idiots! How could they not even know which flag belonged to which country? Idiots, idiots, idiots, that's what they are! Not that I'm all that good with flags myself ... LOL!

But congrats to Adrian and Colling, when it mattered most, they came through. And those two bunglers did pretty well too didn't they?

I don't think I'd have enjoyed the show as much without Mark & Rovilson though, they were real champions for the entertainment they provided :)

  5. Oh yes.. The washing machine. One of the most genius things that man ever made. Apart from the PC and internet. hehehe.

I too don't mind doing the laundry with the help of my trusty Electrolux as long as there's sun in the sky, ample room for the "jemuran" and someone to do the ironing! LOL!

  6. Cindy - Wah, you're Team Singapore supporter ya :)

I hate those parts too... I wish the machine can fold the clothes for us, that would be just awesome :D

  7. Marzie - I will, when I get back :) I'm not really that interested in a dryer, it's real hot most of the time so I'll make full use of the sun :)

  8. Nick - It wasn't meant to be... but hey, they've won 10 out of 12 so that's not too bad ya. I'm sure they'll remember the last leg for the rest of their lives! :)

I've no probs with the winner, they deserve it! Happy for both the sisters, couldn't believe Vanessa beat the bald guy though... since she had amnesia and all :)

From forums I've participated, a lot of people didn't like them, claimed they hogged the camera, bias editing... but that's entertainment. Can't please everyone! This season was by far the best IMHO. Can't wait for season 3 :)

  11. i have 2 washing machine at home dat doesn't work anymore. one is a very old washing machine dat works for more than 20 years and a new one dat works for only 2 years. my mum had it before I was born so go figure.. 2 years ago my mum decided to buy a new washing machine frm amway coz the old 1 looked really tacky. we didn't dump the old 1 out tho and it was still working fine until recently. Less than a year, the new one broke down and it continues to happen constantly until we finally giv up on it. each break down, we switch to the old one until we get the new one fixed. not long after dat, the old 1 decided not to function anymore since we took him for granted several times lol! now we r off looking for a new one but at the same time we have to do our laundry manually.. bah..

  12. Angie - Yeah, those old machines are more 'tahan tukul' than the new ones. I was thinking of replacing the refrigerator too but the new ones are mostly made of plastic (inside). I didn't like it.

So, I'm still using the old fridge even though the outside are rusty but it still works :)

You can always send to the laundrette but expensive if it's on a daily basis, once in a while it's OK :)
