It's that time of the year again where I feel like changing the frames for my glasses. I normally go through this phase every now and then. I've had my current glasses for a while now and the frame is really not in fashion anymore. Besides, I need to also check the power levels again. I've always had trouble when it comes to choosing a new frame.
Maybe I should really consider getting contact lenses. I did toy with the idea of getting a pair a long time ago but the price of the stuff alone was enough to turn me off. And the many stories I heard about how difficult it was to put on and how uncomfortable it was when using for long periods of time kept me away.
These days, with new technology comes new improvements for contact lenses. One good place to look for contact lenses would be ACLens.com seeing as how they carry practically every major brand right down from Biomedic, Ciba Vision up to Acuvue. Most of these brands come in all sort of styles. The daily disposable kind, the weekly disposable kind, the monthly disposable kind and even bifocal contact lenses which was unheard of those days.
The site is pretty informative too. One product that really caught my eye was the LensAlert which counts down the number of days left for you to change your contact lenses and also the lens case. Now, that's a pretty intelligent contact lens!
I suppose with advancements such as these in the contact lens industry, I might just finally ditch my frames and get myself some contact lenses. Imagine I could have colored contact lenses and have a different eye color everyday, just like a 'Mat Salleh'... hehehe
I dont know, I'd still prefer to stick with glasses cos I think contact lenses can be a hassle to maintain. And it might pop out of your eyes.... hahahahahaha
ReplyDeletehmm i guess its time to do some make over..using a contact lenses is great but need to care of it 100% clean..hehe
ReplyDeletedulu sia pernah pakai color contacts and..aduh sakit mata sia..nda bulih pakai nie..pandai merah mata and feel very dry..so now nda mau pakai sudah lah..
ReplyDeleteWah busy making ka-ching it seems ye Nessa? ;)
ReplyDeleteNessa, I once bought green coloured lenses, saja je gatal! And I had the hardest time putting them in my eyes, mmg tak pandai. So I ended up using it twice only, then I threw them out, boleh?? He he he! :):):)
ReplyDeletecontact lenses are great but there's more maintenance... so for me, I use contact lenses only for special occasions or when I'm doing sports :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Nessa, since Sara Palin came on the scene during the US elections, los of women wearing her type of glasses or frame. It flew off the shelves in US.
ReplyDeleteMe? I have been using Rayban Aviator frames, for normal wear and sunglasses since 21 years old...never switched to another.
The day I switch, my wife will not recognize me, ha ha.
Have a nice day, Lee.
ps, I like women with glasses...if the right type it enhances her looks. Contacts are good, but drop it? And you'll be exercising your knees and elbows. Ha ha.
Mat Dingo ~ Everyone has his/her own preference. I haven't made up my mind yet. Decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteSweet Girlicious ~ Yeah, it would be nice to have blue eyes for a change... I would probably look 'abnormal' though :)

ReplyDeleteMarzie ~ You use twice only and you threw them?? Wah, sayangnya the contact lenses... tak boleh donate ke?? LOL!
ReplyDeleteWah, green eyes would have looked great on those big eyes of yours!
Uncle Lee ~ I don't really like Sarah Palin, I don't know why...
ReplyDeleteRayban is one of the best brands around... eh, I sound like I'm promoting them only! Hehe
I do agree, glasses do enhance one's looks/image. But it depends... either you end up looking like a successful corporate person, or a total nerd!
Yeah la, I threw them out cause frustrated dunno how to use, boleh?! No wonder la my fren calls me a money waster he he!! And the optician said better not share and all that, so I didn bother giving it to anyone! Oh now I feel like buying blue pulak ha ha!
ReplyDeleteMarzie ~ Eh, betul oso. Mana boleh share-share contact lenses kan :) Marzie with blue eyes... wah, mesti menarik tu. Macam mata kucing Siam... hehe
