Licence To Kill!

I have a phobia for the sound of screeching cars. My immediate response would be to cover my ears and close my eyes. It's probably a normal reaction coz we expect the cars to crash after hearing that terrifying screech.

I witnessed an accident just opposite my house several years back. I was hanging the laundry when all of a sudden this Kanchil just came from nowhere and crashed into the lamp post! I didn't even stay around to see if the driver was OK coz I just ran upstairs. I can't stand blood and gory scenes.

I supposed it had something to do with an earlier incident involving an accident when I was just 7 years old. I didn't see the actual accident but I saw injured people with blood and wounds all over their body, screaming in pain. That scene remained vivid until today. And every time I passed by that accident prone area (which is nearby a cemetery), I would cringe in fear.

I actually never wanted to drive but I hated taking the bus. For me, it is easier having someone drive me instead... hehehe. I had my driving lessons way back in 1997 and managed to pass the driving test with flying colors! I think I scored almost a perfect score for the driving theory test. As for the practical test, well, I think I just managed to pass the required mark. I remember how the engine died on me on the slope test. I was sweating profusely, cursing and wishing there weren't so many spectators that day! LOL!

I'm actually afraid of driving around the roads of KL. Half the people behind the wheels these days are like a bunch of deranged maniacs. I wonder how some of them even passed their driving tests. Most of the drivers are rude, seldom use signals, weave in and out, don't even bother stopping at red lights and are basically selfish and inconsiderate when it comes to parking. Maybe they should all start taking driving lessons from the driving lessons Sydney centre so they could probably avoid ending up like one of these drivers :D

I had a phobia of slopes too and I was so damn happy that I didn't stall the car on the slope test ... LOL!

  4. Fear of screeching cars is real.. esp if u have seen an accident up close.

i had a friend who was in an accident when she was in her teens.. till today.. she won't sit in a car for long distance travel.. she rather take a bus.. doesn't make sense to us sometimes.. cos her hubby drives.. and she takes the bus.. but i won't force her to be in a car if she didn't want to... in case something actually happen.. i dun wanna be responsible.

  10. Nick ~ Yeah, with Malaysian drivers, anything is possible. Malaysia buleh...

I'm still scared driving on slopes and hilly areas... especially the 'going up and around and around' drive to the shopping malls parking area! Gives me headache :(

  11. Anny ~ Hmmm... what's the difference being in a car or a bus?? It's probably the space la I guess.

When you have a phobia, it seems trivial for other ppl ya. But it's a torture for the person suffering from it. Kesian juga...

  12. Just ~ You remind me of my fren back home. She can drive but when it comes to taking tests, she gets nervous and can't remember how to drive. So, sampai skrang dia teda lesen tapi dia drive... hehe

Ya, the slope test for me is the scariest part.

  14. Yoon See ~ Oh, tell me about it. I still remember my 1st day driving on the roads... my knees were shaking like crazy, esp. at junctions and traffic lights. Takut the engine dies cos I was driving a manual car! :D

I'm no good with side parking either :(
