One In A Million (OIAM) Season 3 - Top 10

I was supposed to post my review right after the concert last Friday but I was just too lazy to write. It's the weekend and I normally try to stay away from blogging :) Well, better late than never ya.

I totally agree with Han's elimination last week. It was her time to go. She did have a big voice but she didn't leave much impression on me. I can't even remember the final song she sang. Does anyone know what last week's theme was about?

I didn't like Amylea's song (Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen) and her huge puffy sleeves are annoying. I wonder who the stylist for OIAM3 is. Paul was right... she really looked like a mushroom!

Nine sang well and I liked his song choice (Hapus Aku by Nidji). I actually listened until he finished singing, which is a record for me :) He sounded much better than the previous 2 weeks.

I like Fify but her performance this week was distracting. She kept moving all over the stage. Just because the song was catchy, it doesn't mean one has to be all over the place. It was messy and with all that prancing around, it made her hair even messier. Her dark blue dress didn't really compliment the song either... she should have worn pants instead.

I was flipping other channels during the commercials and only managed to catch just a bit of Simon's performance. The song sounded so familiar but I just can't remember the title... a song by Saleem perhaps?? Do leave a comment if anyone of you knows the song. Anyway, it suited Simon's voice and it was great to finally see him sing without the guitar.

Anith once again was a disappointment for me. She's a sweet girl and I wanted to hear something pleasant... a slow and current number would be nice. So far, she hasn't picked the right songs. It was amusing to see her puzzled face when Paul commented that her performance was like a hotdog without the dog :)

Rizu totally surprised me. He sang with passion and I totally loved his song choice (Sandaran Hati by Letto). Check out the video here. He looks so tiny standing next to Marion! I hope he stays longer in the competition coz I want to see his progress. He took the judges advice by controlling his facial expressions.

Pija oh Pija. I'm trying my best to like this girl but she just fails to excite me. I don't know. Maybe I've seen so much of her in Mentor. I don't see anything new from her. I can't hear her low notes except the chorus (So What by Pink). Other than a Rock chick, what else can we expect from Pija?

Aweera sang Gemilang by Jaclyn Victor. Now I know why they chose Jaclyn to be the guest judge. She was just too nice with the contestants. All that bickering with Paul was unnecessary la. She looks uncomfortable too. I wasn't blown away with Aweera's performance but I'm glad he chose a slower number and infused his trademark scream. OK la... better than last week :) Check out the video here.

Esther sang I Try by Macy Gray, which is another one of my favorite song. She looks like she just came back from work. She sounded just OK to me, nothing extraordinary. A bit too overdone with the mike and showmanship (as mentioned by Syafinaz).
Tomok absolutely stamped his mark that night. I would have never imagined him singing a Beyonce number (Crazy In Love). Now, that was what I call a credible performance. Kudos to Tomok! If it was up to me, I would have given him the immunity award :)

Overall, it was a major improvement compared to last week's concert.
