I've a major headache just now, the kind that you could feel the throbbing inside. Thank goodness it has subsided. And the reason was because I was exposed to a major 'pencemaran bunyi' (noise pollution). I was at my eldest son's class birthday party cum teacher's day celebration this morning.
It was organized by the parents whose kids are in the special classes. I was elected as the treasurer earlier this year (albeit reluctantly) so I had to attend. The kids were very excited upon seeing all the visitors and the abundant food as well as the presents for them. Some of them may be a little bit weird but they were very friendly and polite. Everyone greeted me with big genuine smiles on their faces. How could one not be cheered up seeing such innocent faces like that!
After arranging the gifts and food on the tables, we waited for the school principal, since she was our special guest. While waiting, this boy standing next to me kept saying he liked my son, Nigel is a good boy, over and over again... like a broken record. I just smiled at him and am actually happy that my son is well-liked in school :)
With that 'mantra' going on for almost every minute, I started to get a headache. The class was packed to the brim, and all the students were all talking and shouting, the teachers had a tough time keeping them quiet. It didn't help as the room became stuffier with each passing minute. I couldn't wait for the party to be over cos after close to an hour exposed to heat and noise, my headache became worse... but it would be rude to leave when the principal and other guests were still eating and enjoying themselves, and the kids have yet to receive their birthday presents... so I waited until the party was over. That was from 9.30am till 12 noon. 3 hours of 'memendam kesakitan'...
There was no way I could work so I left for home with my son. I collapsed the moment I saw my bed! My son is happily checking out his presents right now, and he received a lot of them and the look on his face says it all. What's a 'little' headache... the important thing is the kids are happy. Mission accomplished! :D
Special kids can sometimes be so much nicer and politer (us there such a word) than a normal kid.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the birthday party was a blast ... hehehe ... and it's really good that they actually organize things like these :D
Nessa, wakeup.. masih sakit kepala kah?? Bangun lah!! our David Cook will be on screen any minutes now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Son! (I forgot just now).. Nessa, it looks like David A will win the boxing. 60% of me says he would become the next AI, though I still want David Cook to win. Knock out lagi.. I'm happy for DA as well, he deserve it.
ReplyDeletegood oh...active PIBG kamu ah...kasi bikin makan2 lagi di skul. And oh happy bday to ur son. Teda gambar? :)
ReplyDeleteSia dua kali ja tinguk AI but i vote for DC.
Hi dear! Hope ur headache has subsided by now. I'm sure that didn't stop u from watching AI tonight though yeah?
ReplyDeletePS. Thanks for reminding me abt GS he he... so far, noone is my fave la... must watch it again this week I guess! ;)
Aww! I'm pretty sure I've stressed my Ummi out just as much *chuckles*.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better already. ;D
Haha.. I might like parties now, but I'm sure when I'm around a bunch of kids, my head would be killing me as well! So what did your son get? I'm glad he's happy! :D
ReplyDeleteNessa, I hope this news will cure your headache... "Our David Cook won American Idol title" yeaahhh!!! hug! hug!
ReplyDeleteArrggggghhhhh, I was about to leave comment here and I saw a comment that DC is the winner. Darn, there goes the suspense of watching it on TV tonight!!! I knew I shouldn't have blog hopped!
ReplyDeleteOh well, I'll just act real surprised and hoot for joy when they announce the winner but somehow it ain't going to be the same ... siggghh ...
On another note, yes, special kids are sometimes ten times nicer than a regular kid. And they're always so happy and smiling all the time :D
nick phillips, sorry lah I wanted to share my excitement with Nessa just now coz DC won... maybe next year lah ahh I'll have my mouth shut... hahaha hehehe
ReplyDeleteQueen Bee - LOL! No worries, it's out everywhere on the net already and if I didn't see the results here I would have seen it else where. Next year, I'll just switch off my PC, TV and radio until after the results ... hahaha ... But it's good that DC won, I've been a huge fan of his since day one :D
ReplyDeleteMD ~ I think there is such a word :) Yup, unlike my days, didn't get a single thing... hehe
ReplyDeleteQueen Bee ~ My headache's gone, nasib baik! I couldn't watch AI, was at work. But I did get the results from the net. Surprised me but the fans have spoken or rather voted. Happy for both of them :)
ReplyDeleteChegu Carol ~ Sia baru join this year coz it's my son's first year in the special class (Form 1). The committees have lined up various activities this year, can't wait for the high-tea and proposed visit to Genting Highlands :D
ReplyDeleteSia teda bawak kemera, my HP teda camera function, toun tolivot punya phone bah :*( Belum mampu bili baru lagi.
Queen Bee ~ Thanks for the birthday wish :) Suda limpas actually, it was in April. The birthday party was for kids' birthdays fm Jan to May.
ReplyDeleteMarzie ~ It's gone, thanks for asking :) Yeah, managed to watch the 8pm repeat show. Awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteNo probs, no sweat about the reminder... hehe. Oh, you must continue to watch, then you can see their progress, some are lousy ya.
I'm sad AF6 is wrapping up this Saturday :*(
Haizum ~ Ah, caught ya... nakal ya? Well, I admit I gave my mum grief too. Kids will always be kids.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I feel much, much better :)
Syura ~ I love kids except when they make waaayyy too much noise, kenot tahan... hehe
ReplyDeleteMacam2 benda dia dapat, mostly stationery. OK la tu, at least I won't have to buy pencils and whatnots till next year! LOL
Queen Bee ~ Yup, I found out about it from the Net. No TV at work :( I think lil David's dad caused some damage. David Cook is a deserving winner, he received 12 million votes more so that says a lot :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still happy for young David though, he's famous already. I'm sure lots of ppl will buy his album *that includes me*
Nick ~ OK, calm down... take deep breaths, slooowly...
ReplyDeleteI expected this (spoilers), I was guilty of doing it too *unintentional*, lesson learned :D
That's true. I should bring my camera next time, all happy faces...
Kids + noise = fun and sakit kepala! I agree with that combination.. I experience it all the time here, though not with many kids but with my own daughter!
ReplyDeleteI am not surprise at all that other kids like Nigel... he is a friendly boy who loves to smile. Geez! I miss them both. Tell them big hugs from Auntie Ann.
Haha! Even though I don't have kids yet, sya paham betul the situation. My nephews baru 2 orang plus my niece yang 1 orang tu, uiii, macam ada 10 orang heheheee... Tapi if teda diorang, sunyi sepi pulak kan. :D Glad to hear that your boy was happy. Yep, happiness is all that matters. :)
ReplyDeleteAnn ~ Yeah, tell me about it. Both of them make noises equivalent to 10 kids! I guess we were like them too when we were younger, right? :)
Sia betul2 'salute' my auntie, I never ever see her get angry with her kids even though perangai anak dia sometime 'bikin panas'. Tia tau la apa rahsia dia...
Wah! Bulih tahan your aunt kan. If me, sama nephews sya yang 10 and 8 years old tu pun sya bulih begaduh pasal T.V. hahahaaa... Sebab sometimes kalo sya mo tinguk T.V. either diorang main2 yang biiisssiiinggg betul tu atau macam tadi la, sya mo check ada Prison Break atau teda, diorang pi pasang DVD jadi terpaksa mo kasi tinggi suara sampai perkataan 'selfish dan tidak pandai share' pun terkeluar!
ReplyDeleteCrystal ~ Ya, sia pun respek my aunt la :)
ReplyDeleteBiasa la, sia pun slalu gaduh with my kids pasal tingu TV seja, esp. kalau ada katun clash with my fav. TV program. Tiap2 malam misti mo cakap 'Woi, diam la, bising!!' LOL
