080808: Let The Games Begin!

I took the boys to McDonald's last night cos it has been a while since I've taken them for fast food. My younger boy has been piling on the pounds and I've been watching his diet and cutting down on fast food for him. And besides the real reason I wanted to eat at McDonald's was cos I wanted to get the Olympic toy that came with Happy Meals (blush) and needed to use my younger boy as an excuse to buy one.

McDonald's has this Happy Meal promo where you get to collect the mascots for the five continents of this planet. I actually wanted the one called Nini which was the mascot for the African continent but unfortunately the toy for the day was Huanhuan for the continent of America (siggghhh). Looks like my little boy is going to be having another McDonald's treat really soon :D

I'll probably be snug on my couch (with the remote in my hand all night) watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics right now as you read this post. The wonders of scheduled postings... hehehe. I'm actually interested in watching athletics, gymnastics and the swimming events. I wonder what the Chinese have in store for us for the opening ceremony tonight but I'm sure it's going to be a spectacular one! Oh and I even got myself the McDonald's collectors item Coke drinking glass :D

  14. Spiff ~ Hey, get one for me too if it's available ya :D

Yup, the opening ceremony was awesome... but I read somewhere that they digitally enhanced the fireworks effects on TV and that the little girl who sang the national anthem was just lip syncing. Apparently the original singer was too chubby and had crooked teeth. Oh dear...

Eh, one of the Olympic channels shows highlights everyday for 24 hours throughout the games. I'm sure they'd repeat the gymnastics events. Just press '826' on Astro you can select the channels from there.
